Can I back at $1 and upgrade my pledge later?

Yes. Backers who pledge $1 or more will get access to the Backerkit pledge manager after the Kickstarter concludes. Through there you can upgrade your pledge to any reward level, and add additional products or add-ons

How do I get the add-ons or other products?

Once the campaign has concluded anyone that backed at $1 or more will receive a link to the Backerkit pledge manager. Through there you can edit your pledge details, address, and add additional items such as the featured add-ons, Lost Empires, or previous Kolossal titles depending on availability in your region.

If you’d like to help unlock stretch goals, you can add the funds you expect to spend on add-ons or extras to your Kickstarter pledge amount. The amount that you pledge will be used towards any items in our Backerkit store.

If you need to add additional funds to purchase add-ons or extras after the campaign has concluded you can do so through Backerkit.

If i order additional games in the pledge manager, when will they ship?

Items ordered as Extras in the pledge manager will ship with the Lost Empires items from this campaign. If you’d like to receive your Extras items sooner you can pre-order them through our website or find them at a local game store where available: https://kolossalgames.com/shop/

Are the games EU/CA/AU/US friendly?

All games will ship to backers from within one of these regions. This should remove the possibility of fees/taxes on incoming packages. Note: If your country is not in one of the above-mentioned regions, we cannot guarantee customs-friendly shipping in these areas. (For example, Norway & Switzerland are not in the European Union.)

Is this campaign UK customs friendly?

Yes, our games will ship from within the UK so backers won’t have to pay additional import taxes. There will still be VAT charged for UK orders.

How can I sign up for the express shipping option to Australia or New Zealand?

Express shipping options and charges will be handled through our pledge manager Backerkit. Once the surveys launch backers in Australia and New Zealand will have the option to change their pledge to War for the New Sun or Crown of Ashes - Express shipping (AUS/NZ)”. This pledge will show the new shipping rates for express shipping from our facilities in China or the US.

Please note, backers who choose the express option will not be able to choose any Extras from our pledge manager store.

Australian and New Zealand backers of the express option will have their games fulfilled at the same time as our Asia/RoW backers with their games being air shipped by plane from the Chinese facilities.

Because express shipping items are not shipping from within the country of delivery, Kolossal will not be reimbursing any additional charges which can include but are not limited to any duties or import fees associated with the delivery of your package.

Will I be charged VAT?

Yes. Backers in the EU and other countries that require us to pay VAT for shipping as the seller will have VAT charged through the pledge manager. VAT will vary based on region.

What is new for this campaign?

While successfully funded the first time, listening to our backers was our main priority. The overall consensus was that people wanted more. We wanted to take in all that was being said and apply it at the design level. Brad and Ryan Pye have worked over the last few months to deliver on that promise of more for our backers and with that developed new modes of gameplay for Lost Empires.

What’s New:

The Crown of Ashes Expansion includes:

Solo decks for all 4 factions.

3 - 4 Player variant game modes.

We knew that postponing could run the risk of not funding, however that was a risk we were willing to take to provide more content for our community while still offering the base game for those that want just that experience too.

Is/will there be anything Kickstarter Exclusive?

We aren’t doing Kickstarter Exclusives but we are doing Direct Exclusives with our stretch goals. Meaning, that anything on this campaign that is unlocked will be free for our backers, but will be sold directly from our online store and conventions while supplies last after the campaign.

The solo content will be available on this campaign, on our Kolossal Store, and at conventions

With the expansion, does it add anything to the 2-player core game or is it JUST for changing the player counts?

The Crown of Ashes expansion is solely for the variant gameplay modes, if you are looking for the classic base 2 - player core, War for the New Sun is all you need!

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
